From Survival To Service
It's Over Now.
After surviving bacterial meningitis, epilepsy and months in intensive care and an induced coma, I rebuilt my life. Now I share my story to bring hope, raise awareness and help others discover strength after adversity.
Healing begins the moment you believe tomorrow can be different.
My Story
About Me
My name is Karrine Watson. I am an author, speaker, survivor and advocate based in Greater Manchester. My journey has been anything but ordinary.
Over the years I have faced epilepsy, severe COVID-19, bacterial meningitis, months in intensive care, an induced coma and a long road to recovery. My illness left me with permanent deafness in my right ear, memory impairment and balance difficulties. I had to relearn how to walk and rebuild almost every aspect of my life. Despite these challenges, I refused to allow my circumstances to define me.
In July 2023, I published my memoir, It’s Over Now: How I Found the Strength to Carry On, sharing my experiences with honesty and hope so others facing adversity know they are not alone. Today I work alongside charities, hospitals and community organisations, using my lived experience to raise awareness of meningitis, epilepsy, brain injury, trauma and resilience. I believe every painful chapter can become a source of strength and purpose.
It’s Over Now
It’s Over Now is an honest and deeply personal memoir following my journey through childhood trauma, adversity, serious illness and recovery. From growing up with difficult life experiences to surviving epilepsy, bacterial meningitis, an induced coma and months in intensive care, this book shares the realities of rebuilding life when everything changes. It is ultimately a story of resilience, hope, forgiveness and finding the strength to carry on.
